While most bnei Torah are now in bein hazemanim mode, at Kollel Ner Hamizrach (KNH) of Atlanta, the new zeman has already started.

The zeman usually starts on Rosh Chodesh Elul, but because Elul is so late this on the calendar this year, the kollel leadership decided to give the yungeleit of the kollel bein hazemanim early and to begin the zeman early, during the month of Av.

In addition to morning and afternoon sedorim at the kollel, the kollel features a night seder where yungeleit learn with members of the community.

Matzav.com spoke to Rabbi Dovid Kapenstein, the kollel’s executive director, who remarked that Kollel Ner Hamizrach “has brought tremendous blessing and growth to a city that is building an even stronger Torah community.”

The rosh kollel is Rav Eliezer Cohen. Rav Shmuel Khoshkerman is the rov of Ner Hamizrach.

In addition to the full-day learning schedule for the avreichim and community members studying nightly at the kollel, the yungeleit also give classes in six different languages in neighborhoods around Atlanta to men and women, Sephardim and Ashkenazim, Israelis and Bucharim, and day school students.
