The stones of the Kosel will be examined this week in preparation for the Yomim Noraim. In addition, the notes placed in the cracks of the holy site will be removed in the presence of Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, the Rabbi of the Kosel.

The examination will take place on Tuesday morning, and the removal of the notes will take place from 11:00 AM onwards.

The examination of the Western Wall will be conducted by the Western Wall Heritage Foundation and the Israel Antiquities Authority.

The notes that will be collected from the Kosel will be transferred to the Har Hazeusim, where they will be buried together with the holy books that are transferred for Geniza.

  1. Buried on Har Zeisim? I think that’s a bit extreme.
Putting notes into the kosel, bichlal, is not so pashut. Please read page 20 of the new sefer that came out “Rav Chaim on the Yamim Nora’im” (Artscroll) #2, second paragraph.
