Kremlin Says Putin, Trump May Meet At G20 Summit In Japan Later This Month

The Kremlin said Friday that Russian President Vladmir Putin may meet US President Donald Trump at the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan at the end of this month, according to the Interfax news agency.

Last year, G20 leaders held their annual talks in Bueno Aires just days after the Russian seizure of three Ukrainian navy vessels off the coast of Crimea. The incident prompted Trump to cancel a previously scheduled meeting with Putin.

Trump and Putin have only spoken in a few phone conversations in recent months after the US officially withdrew from the landmark Cold War-era Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) missile treaty over Moscow’s violation of the agreement.
