lakewood-cheder-campus-smallLakewood, NJ – Today, the Lakewood Cheder took a giant step forward in its effort to accommodate the phenomenal growth of the school. The Cheder’s closed on its new campus on Vasser Avenue in Lakewood’s Industrial Park, a 218,000-square-foot building on which the Cheder went to contract last year.

The urgent need for new and expanded quarters for both The Lakewood Cheder and Bais Faiga Girls School – which together educate some 3,300 children – has long been recognized.

The calls for a new home for the Cheder were answered with the closing on the new building, which is located on thirteen acres on Vasser Avenue in Lakewood. The new campus will house the entire Lakewood Cheder, including a large bais medrash and dining facilities.

Expansion of Bais Faiga Elementary School’s existing campus on Courtney Road to accommodate growing enrollment has also been addressed, with the plans for the new Bais Anya building.

This latest project is another exciting page in the storied history of this exceptional mosad.

  1. Mazal Tov to Rabbi Yosef Posen, a wonderful ish chinuch whose selfless mesiras nefesh over many years has given the community the confidence to follow his lead as the Cheder moves ahead.

May he have the strength to withstand the pressures of his job and be zoche to see all the Rebbeim and Moros paid on time and the children housed in suitable buildings without having to mortgage the future through endless loans!

Also, lets get some solar panels on that roof and we will be able to sell electricity to half of New Jersey!

  2. This is a true simcha for the entire town! A special thank you to the vaad of the cheder, a group of true askanim who give thier lives, to make ours better!!! We should all be zocha to emulate these role models.
