Lakewood Health Screening for Men at Chemed

health-screeningToday, a health screening for men will be held at the facility of Chemed in the former Jamesway building on Route 9 in Lakewood, NJ. The screening is being sponsored by Lev Rochel Bikur Cholim of Lakewood, Chemed and Hatzolah of Lakewood for the fourth straight year. The screening, which will be held from from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., will test blood pressure, oxygen saturation, body mass index, glucose and cholesterol.

In other Lakewood news, today, Hatzolah of Lakewood is offering free pizza vouchers in exchange for the contents of Hatzolah pushkahs from Lakewood residents. Drop off locations include Kosher Village, the West Gate Shopping Plaza and the Hatzolah building on County Line Road.

  1. Talk about the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing –

    One group is offering free health care screening – including checks for obesity, blood pressure and diabetes, and the other is offering free vouchers for cholesterol- and carb-loaded pizza to collect tzedakah for a health-preservation organization.

    Maybe they could coordinate?

  2. Who’s being sarcastic? Hatzalah, which does such heilige work in saving lives, should know that poor dietary habits – such as over-indulgence in junk food – is contributing to many of the emergencies, such as heart attacks, that they respond to.

    A greater awareness in the community of health issues such as diet and exercise would save many lives – and help prevent the premature deaths that leave families of widows and orphans when young men in their 30’s and 40’s die needlessly of heart disease.
