Mayor Ray Coles of Lakewood, NJ, revealed to reporter Steve Schorr yesterday that he is looking to open local parks, including the lake paths, in the “next week or so.”

Mayor Coles cautioned that parks can only open up if people are adhering to the proper social distancing guidelines.

“I really want to make sure people understand all the guidelines and they have been doing well,” Coles said. “People are cognizant of the distance rules. And I want people to enjoy the nice weather but as we do it, they should be wearing masks.”

  1. Looking to open local parks! Why is that less dangerous than opening Shuls? Why are parks more important than Shuls? Please, elected officials, look into this matter immediately!

    • Because they’re not finished making thorough bedikas chometz in tifless all over where they have loads of bread in their basements. So in order not to discriminate against ‘them’ and make it obvious, shuls have to be closed too.

    • Because maybe just maybe we have an issue with social distancing in shuls.
I know that you are very concerned with tefilla beTzibur but just stay calm we will get there

  2. What about for Lag Baomer? The kinderlach will need to take a break from their teleconferences and enjoy the age old minhug.
