Ilana Keller reports at the Asbury Park Press that Borgata casino in Atlantic City reported on Facebook that a Lakewood resident won $1,000,000 on a $5 side bet playing poker on Saturday.
The winner beat a 20 million to one odds.
The man, identified only as “Harold M.,” “bet $5.00 on the Three Card Poker ‘6 Card Bonus’ bet and hit a 6 card Royal Straight Flush of Diamonds for a $1,000,000 win,” the casino wrote in the post.

He’s my best friend!
Can you loan me $5.00?
A Lakewood resident won $1,000,000 on a $5 side bet playing poker on Saturday? Hope it wasn’t a religious Jew who was mechalel Shabbos by playing klippos.

Bad tickets to Vegas? Check. 20 years to confess to Hashem why you gamble? Priceless.
He hates.
This is relevant news for the frum community because he happens to be from Lakewood not Kalamazoo, right?
It disturbs me that this kind of news about an individual playing poker should be on here. Is Matzav trying to encourage this kind of behavior??
I can’t believe the negative comments here.
Think of the benefits: By reaching out to this man, he may appreciate our kindness, and could donate a big chunk of his earnings to our Torah mokomos in Lakewood.
