Lakewood: Roberts Pesach Carnival at Pine Park

This year, the annual Chol Hamoed carnival sponsored by Kollel Ner Avrohom and Dr. Kasriel Roberts will be at a new location. The event will be held today, the first day of Chol Hamoed, from noon to 7 p.m., with a rain date of Friday, from noon to 5 p.m. All rides and nosh will at Pine Park. Videos for children will be shown at Kollel Ner Avrohom, located at the corner of Case Road and Arbutus Drive. The rides at Pine Park will be provided by Traveling Tykes Entertainment and paid for by Kollel Ner Avrohom.

Dr. Roberts says that “everything is free and nothing will be available to be purchased or paid for.” He explains that the objective of his bi-annual project is “to provide a kosher and sweet Chol Hamoed event for children while helping to relieve some of the financial burden on frum families.”

Thousands are expected to take part in the event at Pine Park, which will feature magician David Blatt, two storytellers, cotton candy (12,000 cones, 350 pounds of sugar), Golden Fluff French Fry bags (5,000 bags), Golden Fluff water bottles (5,000 bottles), a juggler, pony rides, a petting zoo, an obstacle course, rock climbing, and rides, including a pirate ship, moon bounce, fun slide and train.

At Ner Avrohom, videos for children of various ages will be shown at different locations of the shul. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Dr. Roberts explains that the reason for the change of location is due to the fact that the Chol Hamoed carnival has grown, and about 10,000 people attended the event this past Sukkos. The carnival has thus become too large for the Roberts backyard, necessitating the change in venue.

Traveling Tykes will have its own carnival on other days of Chol Hamoed at Pine Park, but some of the attractions will be different and there will be a monetary charge for attendees.
