Lakewood, NJ’s FirstEnergy Park, home of minor-league baseball team The Jersey Shore BlueClaws, will change names after its contract with FirstEnergy, parent company of local electricity provider JCP&L, expires.
The new name of the stadium will be ShoreTown Ballpark.
In October of 2020, the team itself underwent a name change, when it shed the name Lakewood and became The Jersey Shore BlueClaws.

Next we will be calling the Roshei Yeshiva, the ShoreTown Roshei Yeshiva. Or, where do you learn? In ShoreTown! Or, Where are you living after your wedding? In ShoreTown!
Why don’t they just name it BMG stadium?
Because that will remind people of how the city built it and how that was followed by threatening every parent that if their kids went to a game, they would be tossed out of school.
Or have BMG get a big donation from FirstEnergy and call it FirstEnergy yeshiva.
ShoreTown, which is a half hour ride from the shore?
So Lakewood taxpayers spent $25,000,000 and they have a chutzpa to call it Shoretown???
Sure!
Don’t get too excited the name was never known as LAKEWOOD Park anyway. Is was called Blue Claws Stadium before First Energy.
But hiw can they clal it shnortown anyway when local ppl dont live on the shire?
Will they be selling kosher hotdogs?
