Members of the Bernstein family arrived at their home on Eleventh Street, between Madison and Clifton Avenues, after having been away for the weekend. Upon discovering a box in front of their home, they contacted local police, not knowing if perhaps the unknown package posed any sort of danger.

Within minutes, officers from the Lakewood Police Department, the Lakewood Fire Department, the New Jersey State Police, and the HazMat unit from Berkeley Township arrived to inspect the package and ensure that there was no danger to local residents.

The HazMat unit examined the package and found that it contained nothing more than a woman’s dress, an officer told Matzav.com.

The incident occurred two blocks from Beth Medrash Govoha’s Irvington Campus and down the block from the Lakewood Mikvah.
