The Lakewood Township Committee, under the direction of Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein, is instituting an Employee of the Month program to highlight the achievements of all township employees and recognize those individuals who serve the public and treat fellow employees in an exemplary way.
The public, Township employees, Township professionals, and elected officials can nominate any Township employee, except the municipal manager, for the Employee of the Month award. The criteria for selection as Employee of the Month include a high level of service to customers and fellow employees, excellence in delivering his or her work product, the development of ideas that promote efficiency and save the Township money; and exemplary work habits.
Committeeman Lichtenstein said, “It is hoped that the institution of this program will improve the work environment and enrich the experience of the public when conducting business with the municipality.”
Nomination forms are available on the Township Website (www.twp.lakewood.nj.us/) or in the Manager’s Office. Nomination forms can be submitted via an Employee of the Month box in the Manager’s Office or at email@example.com. The deadline for submission is the last day of each month. No employee may nominate himself or herself.
A Nominations Committee made up of the Municipal Manager and two department heads, who will serve on a rotating basis. The Lakewood Township Committee will present Employee of the Month award at the Township’s second monthly meeting. The award will take effect on the first day of the following month and will run through the end of the month.
An Employee of the Month will receive a proclamation from the Township Committee, recognizing the achievement, one additional vacation day; a preferred parking space for the month; and his or her named added to an Employee of the Month plaque located in the Main Lobby of the Municipal Building.
