At least one woman has died and 9 people have been injured as buses and private cars collided in a massive vehicular accident at the Shaul Hamelech-Bar Illan intersection in Sanhedria, Yerushalayim.
The crash occurred at about 4:50 p.m. when two buses – one of them an accordion bus – a minibus and four cars collided.
Passengers were trapped in one vehicle that was seriously smashed.
Volunteers from United Hatzalah, Zaka and others treated the injured, while rescue personnel extricated those who were trapped in vehicles.
The injured were taken to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital and Hadassah Hospital.
“When I arrived at the scene, I saw a major accident involving two buses, four private cars, and one minibus,” United Hatzalah CEO Moshe Teitelbaum told Arutz Sheva. “Volunteers from United Hatzalah’s ambu-cycle unit arrived first on scene and began treating the injured. EMTs and paramedics requested help from the Fire and Rescue department to extricate the injured due to one of the vehicles having overturned and another having been crushed by one of the buses.”
