In anticipation of President-elect Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration, a number of right-wing groups, spearheaded by the families of hostages from the Hostages’ Families (Tikva) Forum, are urging the government to aim for a complete triumph and the safe return of all hostages under the slogan, “It’s time for victory.”
On Tuesday, these organizations unveiled a large billboard near the Ayalon Highway in Tel Aviv, featuring Trump’s warning to Hamas and the residents of Gaza: “All of them until 20/1, or the fire of hell will open.”
Zvika Mor, father of hostage Eitan Mor and a member of the Tikva Forum, remarked: “The United States, the largest and most powerful superpower in the world, chose Trump – and by doing so, it is signaling that it is ready to end evil and radical Islam. Hamas is now on the clock, its time running out because in 13 days, when Trump enters the White House, ‘the gates of hell are going to open for Hamas’ – so we strongly advise them to return the hostages before he takes office.”
He further stated, “We want to make it clear to the Israeli public that a new Middle East is on the horizon, and the rules are changing. The State of Israel will be able to act in Gaza in ways it could not under the Biden administration. Let the IDF deal with the terrorists. We will exact such a price from Hamas that it will never be able to repay – until they return the hostages.”
Yehoshua Shani, father of Captain Uri Shani, who died in combat on October 7, commented: “When Trump assumes office, the situation is going to shift drastically in Israel’s favor. Throughout the war, Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke about how the Biden administration hindered Israel’s ability to take significant actions, particularly concerning humanitarian issues. That excuse is now gone! The Israeli government must act now to decisively end the war and bring all hostages home, so that the sacrifices made will not have been in vain.”
This initiative was launched by the Tikva Forum, which unites the families of the hostages, along with the Tekuma organization, the Victory Generation Reserves, Combat Doctrine, My Israel, and other active groups. They believe that with Trump’s arrival in the White House, the responsibility now lies with the Israeli government to ensure victory within a set timeframe.
