congressLawmakers from both parties voiced their willingness Sunday to pursue some changes to the nation’s gun laws, but adamant opposition from the National Rifle Association has made clear than any such effort will face significant obstacles.

NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre dismissed efforts to revive a ban on assault weapons as a “phony piece of legislation” that’s built on lies.

Democratic lawmakers in Congress have become more adamant about the need for stricter gun laws since the shooting of 20 children and six teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California is promising to push for a renewal of expired legislation that banned certain weapons and limited the number of bullets a gun magazine could hold to 10.

According to him the 20 children and 6 teachers are still alive. he blames the the funeral homes that buried them alive.

  2. To # 1. Your comment is about as brilliant as those made by some of our elected idiots who think that making new laws on top of old laws will stop crime. Would you care to take a guess how many laws the Newtown nutjob broke? Wake up and smell the coffee – criminals don’t obey any laws. The only thing more laws will do is disarm honest citizens who already have to jump through multiple hoops and wait long periods of time to purchase a weapon legally.

  3. number one please reread ur comment its ridiculous and doesnt make sense! now, the shooting last week where a man lured firefighters to a scene and shot em is proof why gun control is bad. this murderer was not allowed to own a gun he still had one, people who want guns are going to get em anyway look at drugs yes its illegal(mostly) but anyone can get em if u know where to go. all the recent shootings once the police showed up they took their own life, meaning once they felt a threat they stopped, so if a responsible person has a gun, then they will be forced to stop, i am not saying someone needs to shoot to kill necessarily but to protect others its is a must. also Donald Kaul who is pro gun control wrote this “I would tie Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, our esteemed Republican leaders, to the back of a Chevy pickup truck and drag them around a parking lot until they saw the light on gun control,” hmm gun control is to protect people and promote peace im not getting that here.
