A bipartisan group of lawmakers on Friday demanded that President Trump restore $3 million in funding he cut from the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in his proposed budget.

“In our view, the mission of the museum has never been more important, particularly as the number of anti-Semitic attacks around the world rises,” the 64 reps wrote in a letter to the Interior Appropriations Subcommittee, The Hill reported.

“Now is not the time to cut funding for this national treasure.”

The letter, spearheaded by GOP Syracuse Rep. John Katko, along with Reps. Stephanie Murphy, (D-Fla.), Carlos Curbelo (R-Fla.), and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.), acknowledges that Trump has hard choices to make after adding $54 million to defense spending. Read more at NY Post.

  1. The museum doesn’t minimize anti-semitism. I’d rather that my food and mortgage money be used for other things.

  2. The $3M can be raised by either cutting the bloated salaries of the museum’s management or by private fund raising. No need to burden the US taxpayer. If fact, these two methods could be used to reduce the ENTIRE museum’s burden on the US taxpayer to zero.

I expect the egos of the museum management folk is to big to consider the first method.

  3. The museum is not a national institution, to be supported by tax dollars. Private donations and entry fees are what keep such outfits solvent.

  4. The museum is just a money making gimmick for secular Jews who are opponents of Torah. They lump the toeiva gang into their memorials. I hope Trump closes down these sheisters.
