Mouth-watering laundry-detergent pods that look like Willy Wonka’s everlasting gobstoppers could soon be a thing of the past. A bill introduced in Albany this week would ban tempting detergent packets in New York state and replace them with ones of “uniform color not attractive to children” and “not easily permeated by a child’s bite,” reported the New York Post.
Babies keep eating the tasty-looking packages and teenagers can’t stop daring each other to take part in the Tide Pod Challenge, with 86 teens reportedly sick after chowing down on detergent in January alone, according to the American Association of Poison Control Centers. Read more at the NEW YORK POST.

  1. This isn’t a legislative issue. Keep better eyes on your toddlers and if your teen is eating detergent you’ve done them a disservice. Parenting is a FULL time job, when you fall short you can’t expect others to clean up your mess.
