Ahead of Dzhokhar’s federal trial, his lawyers are looking for evidence that proves the elder Tsarnaev, 26, who was killed in a shootout with police, was the instigator of the bomb plot and that his younger brother, 19 at the time, was just a follower.

In court documents filed Friday, Tsarnaev’s defense attorneys sent a letter to prosecutors claiming that “the FBI made more than one visit to talk with [the Tsarnaev’s parents], and Tamerlan, questioned Tamerlan about his internet searches, and asked him to be an informant.” They did note, however, that the FBI has already denied Tsarnaev was ever asked to be an informant. Read more at The Boston Globe.
