LeBron James doesn’t want reporters to ask him about Kyrie Irving anymore. James turned the tables during a media presser to grill reporters on why they’ve been asking him about Irving’s antisemitism and not a 1957 photo of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who was pictured antagonizing Black students in a hostile effort to keep his school segregated in a newly surfaced photo. James said he feels the Jones photo has been brushed under the rug, claiming there’s a double standard for white people in the sports industry.

“I feel like, as Black men, as a Black athlete, as someone with power and a platform, when we do something wrong, or something that people don’t agree with, it’s on every single tabloid, every single news coverage,” James said. He has previously gone to bat for Irving, who promoted an antisemitic film and then doubled down on it before claiming there’s no way he can be antisemitic, saying Irving’s apology should be enough for the Brooklyn Nets to let him back on the court. “Kyrie apologized and he should be able to play,” he tweeted Nov. 10. “That’s what I think. It’s that simple.” Read more at Yahoo Sports.

  1. James turned the tables during a media presser to grill reporters on why they’ve been asking him about Irving’s antisemitism and not a 1957 photo of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who was pictured antagonizing Black students.

Answer: Because Irving is a fellow NBA player, who once played on Lebron’s team and won an NBA championship together with him, and because the incident with Irving just happened, and because Irving doesn’t seem to be backing away from his assertions, and because Irving’s anti semitic social media post occured at a time when Kanye West, a fellow celebrity, is continuously spewing out the same kind of stuff, and because these current anti semitic outbursts are stirring other anti semites to viciously attack Jews while the attackers simultaneously cite the comments of West and Irving, and because Lebron has said some things in the past that smelled of anti semitism.

  2. Also, Jews suffer from more antisemitism than blacks do racism (“A Jewish person is three times more likely to experience a hate crime than African Americans” – Israel Hayom).

  3. Lebron is right. Matzav and the others should stop breathlessly reporting every time Ye or Kyrie burps or farts. We have to realize that we’re in galus and it’s best if we keep a low profile. Neither of these nobody’s (including Mr. James) present a real “threat” or gathering of real anti semitism. I agree that it’s starting to backfire. Stop giving them attention and a platform.

  4. Is this a guilty by association that the media is trying to play for ratings? or did I not get something? We’re better off below the radar. If this James did nothing himself, why go after him? Do we really want others to have to denounce their acquaintances or be accused of anti-semitism? The only outcome this could bring is for someone to equate suffering of others (blacks) by others (whites) as this is a rational equation, for holding one accountable for others actions others suffering.

  5. Why does anyone care what a total brain dead loser like Lebron James thinks?? The guy is great at basketball because he has an exceptional body.
His mind is about as sophisticated as you would expect from someone who has done nothing other than play basketball his entire life.
