Judge Linda Reade denied Reb Shalom Mordechai bail, stating that he is a flight risk, though she acknowledged the overwhelming support Reb Shalom Mordechai has had from the community during the trial and during the  detention action, his efforts to comply with the terms of pretrial release and the commitment that he has shown to him family and community. She chose to ignore the 1,400 letters of support written on behalf of Reb Shalom Mordechai.
