A shortage of fuel has forced Lebanon’s last remaining power plant to close down.
The government said: “After exhausting all possible options to extend energy production, the last power station has been put out of use and electricity has been cut in the entire country.”
Lebanon’s power company could not say how long the outage would last for. Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati traveled to Baghdad to meet with Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani, after an agreement to supply oil failed due to a financial crisis.
The power outage is affecting critical infrastructure including sewage systems and the water supply, with power being required to pump water into certain areas. Warnings to conserve water have been sent out.
Short term power outages have become routine recently in the country, with many being used to relying on generators for a few hours a day.
The outage comes with tensions over a possible wider scale war with Israel at a high, as Iran and Hezbollah threaten to attack Israel.

Fuel is not the only producer of electricity. For instance in Canada, hydroelectricity accounts for most of the country’s electricity supply.
The power in Lebanon most probably needed to be shut down to arrest terrorists.
Your country can very likely be next.
A country in the midst of OPEC can’t get oil to power their power plants. Oh, the irony. Arab horse thieves and traders doing their thing.
When was the last time the media said the truth?
And Israel/The Jews was NOT blamed for this? Someone’s asleep.
