Likud Responds To Bennett With A Jab: He Deceived His Voters

On Monday evening, the Likud party issued a response to former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s harsh criticism of the government’s actions.

“We would be happy to respond to someone who deceived his voters just to form a government with Meretz and the Muslim Brotherhood party, and who, for the first time since 2014, allowed tens of thousands of Gazans into Israel every day. But like all Israeli citizens—we really have no idea what his positions are on any issue,” the Likud party stated.

Earlier in the day, Bennett had posted a harsh critique of the government. “We witnessed this evening a total disconnect from Netanyahu’s government of disaster. A government that does not respect its fallen is not worthy of this nation.”

He continued, “Lower your gaze, take responsibility. The government of ‘Hamas is an asset’; the government of weakness and evasion of responsibility—get out of the sight of our lion-hearted nation and, for God’s sake, go home already!”

Bennett’s criticism came after an unusual confrontation between bereaved families from the “October Council”—a group of families who lost loved ones in the October 7, 2023 massacre—and Knesset Guard personnel. The guards had prevented the families from entering the visitors’ gallery in the Knesset.

The families had arrived at the Knesset to call for the creation of a state commission of inquiry into the events of October 7. After holding a discussion in the Knesset, they requested access to the visitors’ gallery to observe a plenary session debate, where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was present to discuss the establishment of the commission.

Knesset Guard personnel, however, did not allow the families entry. This led to an unusual and heated altercation, culminating in physical confrontations between the families and the Knesset guards. After being denied entry, some of the family members recited Kaddish.

  1. Israel is in desperate need of DOGE to clean up their government and judicial system.

  2. I do not write very often but I think this article needs a response.
Although not everything can be explained in a short comment.
If you ever heard a discussion of this caliber you would understand that not everything can be said in front of bereaved families. Almost any member or close friend from a hostage will talk with deep emotions not with sense but more with feelings, and that is very human and understandable. But to do the right thing you have to use more brain then feelings. To let these families decide what should be done would be a major mistake. Yes, they the deserve to be addressed and heard but not to decide what is right and what wrong. To let them in to such a discussion means not being able to have a REAL DISSCUSION. And just to think that they have a right to do whatever they decide is also not thinking with brains. Now to your quote “since the Israeli government should have long ago cut off electricity and water to secure their return” Shows how little you understand to problems our country has with most world leaders. Because Chamas has enough money and food for themselves and putting the Palestinian public to hunger would only serve Hamas propaganda and help the hating governments condemn us in all world bodies. This is what the government problem is all along. We have to juggle between doing the best and not letting our enemies to use our doings against us. There is a lot more to say but this is only a comment so we will end here.
