  2. A third reason for keeping all mourning in Tish’a B’av – or at least a deeper understanding of the second reason – is, that a recurring annual day must have recurring real feelings. Even happy days aren’t added unless it’ll always be a celebration of a current happiness, not for a past event. We find that אבלות is something that fades away – גזירה על המת שישתכח, and the only lasting mourning is on a captured living person, or any tragedy that’s current and present, not past. By connecting the mourning to Tisha B’av we guaranty they will last, since the mourning on the Beis HaMikdash is something just temporary taken from us, but mourning on the dead, on the past, is not something we do for generations.

  3. Rav Herzog’s explanation of the קינה doesn’t explain the line “ואין להקדים זולתי לאחרה”, but according to the בריסקער רב it’s well understood, since it’s talking about the general approach to days of mourning, not only in the month of Sivan.

  4. Here is one example of why people are hypocrites regarding this issue. Its not a new revolutionary idea to add days of commemoration. (Is it ideal no. But it doesn’t mean it wasn’t done in the past.) Here is even an article from matzav proving the point. That after the Chmielnicki massace jews added a day of commemoration. And its not the first time jews have done this. But now that the holocaust got tied to zionism. Everything becomes not kosher all of sudden.
