The sprawling tent set up by Maimonides Medical Center to handle a surge in coronavirus patients was dismantled today.

The temporary tent, spread across 10th Avenue, between 48th and 49th streets, was meant to be a patient examination area so that patients can be tested for the virus prior to entering the hospital for treatment.

At its peak in the beginning of April, Maimonides was swamped with patients and instituted a no-visitor policy that angered many family members.
