Dear Matzav Inbox,
I have to share something that really touched me. I spent Shabbos at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, NJ, with a sick relative, and I gotta tell you, Bikur Cholim of Lakewood was a game changer.
Being in a hospital on Shabbos is no picnic, but Bikur Cholim stepped in and made it feel like home. From the second I walked in, they were there with the most geshmake food—fresh, delicious, and perfect for Shabbos. It was like they took a little piece of Lakewood and brought it to the hospital.
But it wasn’t just about the food. The warmth, the care, the whole atmosphere they created—it was something special. These Yidden, they’re not just doing chesed, they’re living it. It’s like they’re on a mission to bring some Yiddishe taam into a place that’s the furthest thing from it.
Yidden! Special Yidden!
In a time when there’s so much strife and difficulty, the Bikur Cholim of Lakewood shows us what Klal Yisroel is all about. They didn’t just help us out physically; they gave us chizuk when we needed it most, making a really tough Shabbos a whole lot more bearable.
To all the tzaddikim at Bikur Cholim, thank you. You don’t even realize how much of a difference you made for us. You’re the real deal, living the true spirit of chesed and showing us what it means to be there for a fellow Yid in a time of need.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Sincerely,
A Proud Yid

beautiful letter!
Thank you for making me feel the same pride!
As a recipient of kiddush and a hot meal when we unexpectedly had to visit a relative on Shabbos, I couldn’t agree more.
Thank you for your beautiful letter.
