After reporting last week that there are no restrictions on Israelis traveling out of the country, Matzav.com can now report that, effective immediately, all existing students, including non-Israelis, may re-enter Israel, as long as they have a visa and are vaccinated or have recovered from Covid-19, Matzav.com has learned from Rabbi Nechemia Malinowitz, director of Eretz Hakodesh in Israel.

Matzav.com had previously reported that following Pesach, the authorities would allow student visa holders to return to Israel, and boruch Hashem that time has come, with hundreds of ishurim having already been given out.

For the past several months, permission has not been granted for exceptional circumstances, such as births, weddings or non-emergency medical conditions. No new rules have yet been issued for these areas, but there is hope that after Pesach, entry for these circumstances will be reinstated.

As reported previously, a new Vaadat Hetterim (Permits Committee) has been established, and this committee is tasked with granting permission to enter Israel for humanitarian reasons.

Rabbi Malinowitz told Matzav.com that he encourages all students to contact their yeshivos and schools to ascertain their status and whether they can obtain an ishur to enable their return following Yom Tov.
