tish-bavOver the course of the next day, as Klal Yisroel all over the world marks the tragic day of Tisha B’Av, Matzav.com will offer an array of insightful articles, shiurim and videos features relating to the day. During the last several years, Matzav.com provided a full day of appropriate programming, and this year, once again, we will endeavor to do so.

We thank all of you for reading, and we pray, together with you and yours, that this be the last Tisha B’Av in golus and that we merit to see the arrival of Moshiach and the geulah sheleimah, may it be soon, in our day.

  1. Tisha B’Av is in essence a Holiday, hence we do not recite Tachanun. In Chazal it says, “Kara Alai Mo’ed.” It is our actions which changed the fate of this day beginning with the Meraglim and made it into the Tisha B’Av that we have known for thousands of years. But I am particularly disturbed by the undertones implied by the words, “Tragic Day.” Tragic things may have transpired over time on this day and in this period of time and we mourn over that. However, this is a day on which the geulah is born and is apropos to be heralded and so we place our hope in it that it should happen speedily in our days.
