As the ramifications of Joe Biden’s border crisis persist, Democrats are starting to criticize the president for his ineffective immigration policies. In New Jersey, one Democratic mayor, Sam Joshi of Edison, is facing backlash for openly opposing the influx of illegal border crossers under Biden’s administration.
Joshi, expressing frustration, declared, “They’re illegal, and they belong on the other side of the border. We don’t want them in Edison, period. That’s the bottom line.” He went on to state his intention to instruct the local police to transport migrants back to “the other side of the border,” a move that has garnered both support and criticism.
Responding to the backlash, Joshi, who identifies as a “son of immigrants,” defended his stance, emphasizing his understanding of the issue. He highlighted Edison’s significant immigrant population and asserted that the majority, particularly within the immigrant community, supports his position, representing their best interests.
Joshi’s comments were prompted by the arrival of a busload of illegal aliens in Edison, who then continued their journey to New York City. He insisted that the federal government should take responsibility for addressing the immigrant problem, disclaiming any local role in dealing with homeless illegal immigrants due to resource constraints.
Citing financial and social service limitations, Joshi asserted, “Edison does not have the resources required.” He expressed the inability to afford long-term hotel stays or provide housing and educational services, particularly given the strain on overcrowded schools.
Recent polls indicate a growing disapproval among Americans towards the crisis created by Joe Biden. A January 5 YouGov/CBS News poll highlighted a significant partisan divide, with 72 percent of Democrats supporting the idea of local authorities providing temporary housing and social services for migrants, while only 23 percent of Republicans endorse this plan. Independents, crucial in swing elections, showed even less support, with only 38 percent backing the housing of illegal immigrants locally.
The racial breakdown reveals further disparities, with 60 percent of white individuals opposing local housing for illegal immigrants. Surprisingly, 50 percent of black citizens and 47 percent of Hispanics also oppose the idea, indicating a lack of uniform support within minority communities.

You state the democrat Mayor was “blasted” but then you don’t quote who exactly blasted him. Typical made up shoddy reporting by the little immature kinderlach that run Matzav. I guess you’re too busy censoring everyone’s comments.
he’s 100% correct – they’re depleting all the reserves New Jersey and New York have from the richest taxpayers who are moving south because of them taking away from REAL CITIZENS
As an Edison resident I support this message!
