McCain: Trump Admin ‘Partially to Blame’ for Syria Gas Attack

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) on Sunday said that the Trump administration’s at-times confusing stance on Syria deserves some blame for the Assad regime’s use of chemical weapons against its own civilians. “I think it probably was partially to blame. And Secretary [Rex] Tillerson basically saying the same thing after kind of contradicting himself and then saying the same thing argues vigorously for a plan and a strategy,” the senator told CBS’s Face the Nation. “As I said, again, taking this action I support and was important.”

Weeks before Trump launched 59 Tomahawk missiles at a Syrian air base, Tillerson had publicly declared that the Syrian people will determine Assad’s fate. Read more at POLITICO.

  1. McCain doesn’t seem to realize yet that the more he rails against Trump the less credibility he has. No logical basis other than Trump dissed him. Nobody cares.

  2. And I suppose he was to blame last year as well ? What an idiot
    Anybody remember the so called deal where Syria got rid of their chemical weapons another one of obummer great accomplishments
    Had that really been done like they claimed, we wouldn’t be having this conversation
