The Meah Shearim mother suspected of starving her child underwent a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation last night. According to the reports, the woman was examined close to midnight at the private clinic of Dr. Yaakov Weill, not at the home of the Froelich family where she is being held under house arrest. Some estimate that the mother will be required to undergo another evaluation.
The woman reported to the examination despite pressure from within the chareidi community urging her to refrain from doing so until her sick son is transferred from Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center to another hospital, and until the court allows her to see her other children.
One of the main opponents to the evaluation, according to reports, was the Gaavad of the Eidah Hachareidis, Rav Yitzhak Tuvia Weiss.

I see that many people automatically side with the view that the police and the government are wrong . How does destroying property and harming people advance the cause of the Torah. Where are the grownups in Meah Shearim, why are so many unsupervised youth roaming the streets. Protests in former times were led by gedolim, today it is only the ketanim. It is a chilul hashem and it is embarrasing to see how many people hate the Israeli State while at the same time living off of its welfare system. There are so many good people in Meah Shearim, but they are suffering because of those who love to riot.
