This morning, the IDF revealed the tragic death of Sergeant First Class Meiron Moshe Gersch Hy”d, a 21-year-old native of Petach Tikva. Gersch lost his life during a fierce battle in the northern Gaza Strip while serving in the Yahalom unit, a specialized division within the Combat Engineering Corps.

This brings the count to 509 soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

In a separate incident on Tuesday night, two IDF soldiers sustained minor injuries as a result of anti-tank fire unleashed by Hezbollah in the direction of the Ramim Ridge in northern Israel. Following the attack, the injured soldiers were promptly evacuated to Rambam Hospital in Haifa, with their families duly informed. IDF tanks targeted the origin of the hostile gunfire, underscoring the ongoing intensity of the conflict.

The exchange of fire occurred mere hours after Saleh al-Arouri, the second-in-command of Hamas and the deputy to Ismail Haniyeh, met his demise in an assault within the Dahiyeh district, situated in the heart of Beirut, Lebanon.

Earlier, the IDF disclosed the news of the passing of Staff Sergeant Sufian Dagash, who was killed in battle in the Gaza Strip. Hailing from Maghar in northern Israel, the 21-year-old Dagash served in the 601st Battalion of the Combat Engineering Corps.
