First lady Melania Trump responded to the shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue Saturday that left multiple people dead, saying “the violence needs to stop.”
“My heart breaks over the news out of #Pittsburgh. The violence needs to stop. May God bless, guide & unite the United States of America,” she tweeted.
The suspected shooter, identified in media reports as 46-year-old Robert Bowers, reportedly shouted “all Jews must die” before he allegedly opened fire at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood.
