A possible merger of El Al with the smaller Arkia airline would spell the end to Israel’s aerial chillul Shabbos.

Arkia is the last Israeli airline still desecrating Shabbos, after the Israir airline began observing Shabbos in 2021.

Arkia estimates that it will lose $3.11 million monthly if it stops its Shabbos flights to Eilat and other destinations.

Of course, this fails to account for the brocha of Shabbos observance.
