Merkel Wins Fourth Term As German Chancellor

German chancellor Angela Merkel was elected to an historic fourth term in office on Sunday, according to exit polls.

BBC News reports that Merkel’s center-right party, the CDU/CSU, won 32.5 percent of the vote, keeping it as the largest party in Germany’s parliament.

The far-right, nationalist AfD party made strong gains in the election, as exit polls suggest it’s on track to win 13.5 percent of the vote, giving it a seat in Germany’s parliament for the first time in its history. Read more at The Hill.

    This is not some Hansel and Gretel fairytale. This woman will destroy her own country to the last stone. (Not that I feel all that terrible about it)
