Authorities say they are closing in on fugitive drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, who broke out of prison in July through an underground tunnel.
Mexican police say Guzman sustained injuries on his face and leg during his escape and that intelligence has pointed them to northeast Mexico.
“It is important to note that these injuries were not the result of a direct confrontation,” a statement from officials said. Read more at CNN.
