According to former GOP presidential candidate and Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, the American public is fed up with the Democrats and political adversaries relentlessly targeting former President Donald Trump.

Huckabee, speaking on “The Chris Salcedo Show” on Wednesday, stated, “What we’re witnessing now is a continuous assault on President Trump, and what we’re seeing across the nation is people growing tired of it. They aren’t naïve. Americans have a strong sense of fairness within them.”

He further explained, “While individuals may not necessarily favor Donald Trump, what truly irks them is the ongoing situation because they recognize that if this can be done to Donald Trump, it can, and undoubtedly will, be done to them as well.”

Recently, a grand jury indicted Trump for mishandling documents following his departure from office in 2021, marking him as the first sitting or former president in history to face federal charges.

Huckabee expressed his belief that President Joe Biden does not believe he can defeat Trump in an election, leading him to resort to destroying Trump instead. Huckabee criticized Biden’s utilization of governmental powers funded by taxpayers, stating, “Donald Trump is correct—this amounts to election interference. However, it goes beyond that. It represents a level of corruption unlike anything we have witnessed before.”

Referring to a past incident, Huckabee mentioned that Biden had openly revealed his intentions. He recalled Biden’s statement to a reporter several months ago, saying, “We have to demonstrate that [Trump] will not take power… if he does run. I’m making sure he, under the legitimate efforts of our Constitution, does not become the next president again.”

Huckabee remarked, “[Biden] essentially telegraphed his move, much like a pool player who confidently declares, ‘I’m going to sink the ball in the corner pocket.’ That’s exactly what he proclaimed he would do, just like when he declared that he would withhold $1 billion from Ukraine unless they dismissed a prosecutor who was investigating his son. He openly disclosed his intentions and managed to escape scrutiny.”

Huckabee also criticized the national press, supporting Trump’s claim that the media is the “enemy of the people.”

“Donald Trump was correct in asserting that the majority of today’s press has become the ‘enemy of the people’ because they not only spread falsehoods but also omit the truth,” Huckabee stated. “It’s a double blow, and it poses a danger to a government like ours that relies on responsible media to expose corruption and wrongdoing, but without bias, with a genuine pursuit of justice.”
