Millennials and Gen Z-ers are becoming increasingly comfortable with socialism, according to the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC), which conducts an annual poll assessing Americans’ attitudes toward socialism.

VOC Executive Director Marion Smith attributes this trend shown in VOC’s poll, as well as in other national polls, to a failure of American educational institutions, definitional misunderstandings and a double standard in media and on social media.

“We are seeing the high watermark, politically, of socialism [and] Marxism in the United States,” Smith told Fox News. “Never before in history has the United States seen positive opinions of these ideologies to the extent that we’re seeing today. That’s just a fact.”

  1. It makes perfect sense. They never lived under a Marxist regime didn’t live during the heyday of Communism.

Marxism/Communism looks really good on paper. However where ever it was implemented, something was lost in the translation and it turned out awful.

  2. Once they realize that in a socialist and Marxist society there aren’t any iPhones for the masses, nor Facebook, Starbucks, or lululemon pants, they will be cycling back. Hopefully it won’t be too late.

  3. This is not surprising in th least. A generation who feels lost and depressed, a generation who believes, since there is no G-d runnung this world, they are hopeless, they remain secure only if there IS some power who will control them – i.e. Big Brother – who will pay them wages regardless of their skills, who will feed them regardless if they work, etc.

  4. Let’s not forget the rise of antisemitism, too.
Not the blatant “I hate all Jews” type of antisemitism, but the growing acceptance and even approval of the BDS movement, the backing of BLM which explicitly endorses BDS, refusing to condemn the antisemitism of Reps. Omar and Tlaib, and the vilifying of the “Ultra Orthodox” (black-hatters and chasidim) as being responsible for the current pandemic. As others have pointed out, those who blame us for Covid-19 use almost the exact same words as Haman did long ago – we “look different”, “have funny names”, etc.

  5. let us not forget that the Ribono Shel Olam runs the world. even though today we dont understand, we KNOW without a doubt that this is for our benefit. that knowledge is what keeps me going when we bury close friends, a husband and wife, one week after the other
