Minister Eli Cohen, a key figure in Israel’s Diplomatic-Security Cabinet, stated in an interview with Galei Israel on Tuesday that the nation will not yield to pressure tactics employed by Hamas.
“Whoever thought that they could blackmail the State of Israel with such tricks and other things – it will not happen,” he declared.
Cohen further highlighted that Israel is fully aligned with former U.S. President Donald Trump’s stance on the issue of hostage release.
“The Cabinet’s position is identical to that of the US President: The return of all hostages and bodies on (sic) Saturday – or hell,” he emphasized.
He alluded to the possibility of resuming military operations should the process of releasing hostages come to a halt.
“We will adhere to Trump’s words and adopt them,” Cohen asserted. “I see Hamas’ announcement that they will not keep the agreement as a clear violation of the agreement.”
