In an incident at the Neve Tzuf checkpoint in the Binyamin Region on Monday, an armed terrorist from Nachliel was neutralized by IDF soldiers. The terrorist was found carrying an explosive device and an improvised rifle, with initial investigations suggesting he had intentions to harm soldiers or civilians.
The soldiers, who found the individual’s behavior suspicious, surrounded his vehicle at the checkpoint and demanded that he exit. Upon leaving the vehicle, the terrorist threw a grenade at the soldiers and proceeded to brandish a Carlo submachine gun, firing a few shots. In response, the soldiers swiftly opened fire, successfully eliminating the threat.
Following the incident, a significant military presence arrived at the scene, leading to the closure of the road between Nachliel and Neve Tzuf as a precautionary measure.
Yisrael Ganz, the Governor of the Binyamin Regional Council, expressed his gratitude and praised the actions of the IDF soldiers. He stated, “A short while ago, IDF soldiers eliminated an armed terrorist who arrived at the Neve Tzuf checkpoint from Nachliel. The terrorist was armed with an explosive device and an improvised rifle, intending to harm soldiers and civilians. Our soldiers responded by shooting and neutralizing him, thus preventing a terror attack, for which we thank God. We appreciate the exemplary response from the IDF commanders and soldiers.”
Ganz emphasized the importance of the military’s efforts in countering terrorism, stating, “The commendable actions of the IDF commanders and soldiers have successfully averted a significant terror threat. Despite ongoing challenges posed by the enemy, we remain resilient and united in our stance against terrorism. The Binyamin Region fully supports the military in its ongoing fight against these threats.”
