
Embattled Israeli Health Minister Yaakov Litzman will reportedly leave his post for a new cabinet position following weeks of criticism of his handling of the coronavirus crisis.
Litzman, head of the ultra-Orthodox UTJ party, will likely be moved over to the Housing and Construction portfolio following the formation of the next government, according to Israeli broadcaster Channel 12.
Litzman was criticized for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic despite Israel being considered one of the best countries to have handled the virus.
Israeli media reports claim that the Blue and White party, led by Benny Gantz, will assume the Health Ministry and be headed by former IDF chief of staff Gabi Ashkenazi in exchange for the Foreign Ministry.
