A break in the weather helped rescuers free some of the young soccer players trapped in a Thai cave Sunday — but their good luck was set to dry as monsoon rains began to once again pelt the region.
Rains resumed during the hours-long extraction and were set to inundate the Chiang Rai province Monday and possibly Tuesday, potentially exacerbating what officials have called a “war with water and time.”
It could take between two and four days to save the remaining eight boys and their 25-year-old coach, depending on the weather.
