A growing group of Democratic lawmakers will boycott President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration Friday to protest what they described as his alarming and divisive policies, foreign interference in his election and his criticism of civil rights icon John Lewis, a congressman from Georgia.

There are now more than 60 House Democrats – 64, at last count – who have declared that they will not attend the inauguration on Capitol Hill this week. The number rose sharply after Trump tweeted Saturday that Lewis (D) is “all talk, talk, talk” and should “finally focus on the burning and crime infested inner-cities.”

Lewis, who sees Trump’s Nov. 8 win as illegitimate because of Russia’s alleged interference in the election, is best known for leading civil rights protests in the 1960s, including the 1965 march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, during which state troopers brutally attacked the crowd. Lewis will not attend the inauguration, he told NBC News in an interview for Sunday’s “Meet the Press.”

  1. They haven’t been at work for the last eight years so what’s another day let them all get lost maybe they can spend the time learn how to fix things rather than how to steal peoples money

  2. Look at the disproportionate amount of Democrats from New York. Then you out-of-towners wonder why we always have a radical left-wing Governor, Senators, Congressmen & women, and Mayor. We are outnumbered 5 to 1. Every left-wing piece of dreck decided to live here. The Republican Party is non existent here. The Rinos killed it years ago. I’m living here in Brooklyn over 30 years and never once voted for a Democrat. Even for my local council or assembly. Despite what the media feeds you, almost all Frum people here are Conservative and vote that way.

    • I also live in Brooklyn and you are almost right. Usually Frum people vote Republican. However in the last mayoral election the sound trucks went all over the place blaring all the Hasidik groups who voted for De B. They did it for the short term benefit of money for their Mosdos and thereby stuck us all with the worst mayor in modern history and a man with no moral fiber whatsoever. He shares no values with our community at all. I hope someone other than Hillary will run against him and defeat him

  3. Remember the question to trump?
Will you except Hillary if you lose?

    Ha ha!!!

    Disgraceful immature people..
At least they are showing their true colors now

  4. More than sixty of them, with a full list.
And do you know what my dog plans on doing tomorrow…..

Seriously, these same scoundrels will fawn and slither next week, trying to negotiate some crumbs from the Congressional majority.
Grand posturing followed by bending over.

  5. Residents of Midwood, please note the name of your representative to the House- Yvette Clarj is engaging in this debauchery. Also here Jerrold Nadler, now famous for supporting the Iran deal and hiring PR people to court the Orthodox community. We must be respectfully vocal to these enemies of democracy.
