Pope Francis yesterday criticized the naming of the U.S. military’s biggest non-nuclear explosive as “the Mother of All Bombs”, saying the word “mother” should not be used in reference to a deadly weapon, The Nation reports.

The U.S. Air Force dropped such a bomb, officially designated as the GBU-43 Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) on suspected Islamic State fighters in eastern Afghanistan last month. The nickname was widely used in briefings and reporting on the attack.

“I was ashamed when I heard the name,” Pope Francis told an audience of students on Saturday. “A mother gives life and this one gives death, and we call this device a mother. What is happening?” Read more at The Nation.

  1. Father should not be used to describe this pope. He doesn’t care about children who were abused by pedophiles. He doesn’t care enough to take in those so called refugees into the large Vatican city and he couldn’t care less about people from his religion being slaughtered around the world.

    • Bingo. Exactly. This idiot has his head buried so deep in the sand, it would take years to dig it out.

  2. Seriously?! This Pope is nuts. I see he has entered the Joe Biden zone, from which there is no return. Dog track time.

  3. A “Mother” should also not be used to describe a virgin, as those terms are contradictory. Instead of focusing on what he preaches to benighted public, the pontiff is busy discussing ammunition.

  4. Please don’t post his picture. Just the article without the picture is enough.
אל תסתכל בפני רשע. It’s not necessary.
