It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Mrs. Esther Deutsch a”h. She was 46.
Mrs. Deutsch, a resident of Shikun Skver, became the fourth victim of the car crash that took place two weeks ago in New City, NY, outside of Skver.
Other victims were Mrs. Deutsch’s husband, R’ Aryeh Shmuel Deutsch z”l; her son-in-law, R’ Shlomo Birnhack z”l, 22; and, a day later, Tziporah Deutsch a”h, 20.
The niftarim and other relatives were traveling to a wedding in New York City when their 15 passenger Ford van veered off of New Hempstead Road crashed into a tree on Route 45, right outside of Shikun Skver, trapping all of the vehicle’s occupants – including the hired driver – who were extricated by Hatzolah and other emergency personnel as part of a lengthy and arduous operation that required taking the vehicle apart piece by piece. Passengers, including a number of children who suffered broken bones and other injuries, were taken to local hospitals.
The accident has left the family shattered, mourning the loss of four members of the mishpacha in an unspeakable tragedy.
Mrs. Deutsch is survived by her eight children.
