It is with great sadness that we report the tragic passing of Mrs. Esther Moskowitz a”h of Boro Park following an automobile accident yesterday on Route 17 in Upstate New York. She was 82.
The accident occurred when the vehicle being driven by Mrs. Moskowitz’s husband, Reb Yankel Moskowitz, hit another car at about Exit 16, flipping over and landing on the side of the highway. Mrs. Moskowitz was taken to Weschester Medical Center on Grasslands Road in Valhalla with serious injuries, including a punctured lung. Physicians performed emergency surgery to try to save Mrs. Moskowitz’s life. She subsequently regained consciousness, but succumbed to her injuries this morning.
Mr. Moskowitz, who is in his late-80s, was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and is under the care of doctors there. Mr. Moskowitz operated a shoe store for many years in Williamsburg.
The levaya for Mrs. Moskowitz will take place this evening, at 6:30, at the main Vizhnitzer Bais Medrash on Phyllis Terrace in Kaser Village, Monsey. Kevurah will take place at the cemetery on Brick Church Rd. in Monsey.
