candleIt is with great sadness that we report the passing of Mrs. Harriet Keilson a”h.

Mrs. Kielson was the wife of Mr. Lloyd Keilson, noted askan and chairman of the Board of Trustees at Yeshiva Darchei Torah in Far Rockaway.

Mrs. Keilson was a ‘founding mother’ of Yeshiva Darchei Torah and a true pioneer of Torah and Chessed in the Far Rockaway/Five Towns Community. Her impact will be felt for generations and she will be sorely missed by the entire community.

The levaya will take place today at 1:30 p.m. at Mesivta Chaim Shlomo, located at 211 Beach 17th Street, off Seagirt Boulevard, in Far Rockaway.

Mr. Keilson and his children will be accompanying the aron to Eretz Yisroel, where kevurah will take place on Har Hamenuchos at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Monday. For exact location, call Yossi Sturm at 058-507-0006.

The family will be sitting shivah until they return to the airport Monday night at 3 Rechov Abuhav in Bayit Vegan, Yerushalayim.

Shivah will begin at the Keilson home on Sunday afternoon, 199 Harborview North in Lawrence, NY. The entire family will be returning on Tuesday and shivah will conclude on Friday afternoon.

Sunday, Mincha followed by Maariv 8:10 PM
Monday Shacharis 7:30 AM Mincha / Maariv 8:10 PM
Tuesday through Friday, Shacharis 7:30 AM
Mincha 2:00 PM Maariv 10:00 PM.

Mrs. Keilson is survived by her husband, Mr. Lloyd Keilson; her siblings, Mr. Allen Bodner and Mrs. Miriam Chait; her children, Avi, Tzvi, R’ Dov, Dr. Yair Keilson and Mrs. Rachell Fleischmann; and grandchildren following in her ways.

  4. For those of us who are fortunate to be a guest in her home and friends of her family we will always remember how much kindness you showed to others and cared about her family friends and community .
