Tuesday morning, there was a huge fire on Rechov Sorotzkin in Yerushalayim. B’chasdei Hashem, no one got hurt.
12 buildings were evacuated at 4 am, with hundreds of people out in the freezing cold in PJs. Of all those apartments only one was burnt to rubble, the apartment that belongs to my brother, his wife, and four young children. They are left with the clothes and slippers they were wearing at the time and that’s pretty much it. We are trying to put together some money to buy them clothing, beds, linens, and regular housewares. The kids didn’t have socks or shoes today so they stayed home from school…
My brother fell asleep in his clothing last night by mistake so he has one change of clothes, but nothing else, and my nephew had a fit before bed last night that he didn’t want to get undressed so he has one outfit stuck on under his pajamas… 🙂
