N.Y. Study: Hydroxychloroquine Shows No Benefit Against Coronavirus

A decades-old malaria medicine touted by the president as a coronavirus treatment showed no benefit for patients hospitalized in New York.

There was also no noticeable advantage for patients that took the drug paired with the antibiotic azithromycin, according to hotly anticipated research published Monday in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

The FDA authorized emergency use of the drug against the coronavirus in March, despite sparse evidence that it could work. The researchers analyzed 1,438 Covid-19 patients in the state, without seeing any benefit to coronavirus patients.

  2. Pure lies and politics. Two of my close relatives were quite ill from Corona and saw swift, dramatic improvement and were subsequently completely healed after taking Hydrooxychloroquine in conjunction with Zpack and Zinc (and I heard of many others who were similarly helped). So tragic how politics is more important to some than saving lives.
    (For best results, it should be taken earlier on in the illness and together with constant heart monitoring.)

  3. Im not an expert, but the dr who uses said that it doesn’t work for hospitalized patients! It only works before the patient is hospitalized. Did they do a study on patients who received this treatment before they had to go to the hospital? The article is misleading.

  4. Of course there’s no benefit to patients already in the ICU, especially without Zinc. This “study” is almost as “scientific” as “global warming”. Socialism is a dogma, and as such is the opposite of the scientific method.

    • The people who were saved by it might have been saved without it, too.
      This is why the medical world has protocols for proving things that rule out possible alternative explanations for why things happen.
      You must understand this basic rule of how the medical world analyzes and interprets information before commenting.

    • I would love to see lawsuits against all the state medical boards for all the people they killed by threatening Dr’s with losing their license if they used HCQ in any way.

      Same boards that ordered all the same Dr’s to use ONLY the intubated ventilators, which also killed thousands.

  9. Just wondering…..This drug is suppose to bring the zinc into the cell to kill the virus….Oh, so you say they forgot to add the zinc??? Hmmmm. I guess they didn’t want to see this drug work until they make more money on the vaccine and THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT !!!!!
    Fauci and Birx are farces!!! They are best “friends” with Bill Gates who has invested BILLIONS into vaccine companies and are not about to let this virus go by so quickly….Gates has been talking about it for years “we have to be ready for next pandemic with vaccines”…..

    Severely ill patients may not benefit, because sadly the damage is done.

  11. There are two main reasons why these (so-called) “studies” on Hydroxychloroquine show it as having no benefit:

    1.) The way that Hydroxychloroquine does work is that it pushes the mineral “Zinc” into the cell where the Zinc then destroys the virus. SO HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE MUST BE GIVE ALONG WITH ZINC. To give it by itself without the Zinc would be analogous to trying to start an automobile without any gasoline! These studies omit using
    Zinc, so, of course, the drug does not work.

    2.) In these studies, the patients whom the drug is tested on are people by whom, Lo Alaynu, the disease was severely advanced, close to the point of death. It is entirely understandable that in such cases, NO treatment is going to help very much.

    The truth though is that (in this current pandemic crises) there have been very numerous instances where, along with Zinc, Hydroxychloroquine was used, on “moderately” ill patients, and, Boruch Hashem, there were brilliantly positive results. This is why the President himself made open calls for its use, and this is why countless people are filled with horror and revulsion at Anthony Fauci, his cohorts, and several Democratic state governors, Yimach Shemam V’zichram, who made up lame excuses to try to downplay Hydroxychloroquine and outright outlawed its use and even imprisoned doctors who prescribed it. These policies and actions glaringly showed that they have ABSOLUTE ZERO interest in saving human lives and have ABSOLUTE ZERO interest in seeing this crises end. Needless to say, their hands are stained and filled with the blood of the many tens of thousands of people — including very many B’nei Torah and Gedolay Torah — who were killed by the virus but could have been helped by Hydroxychloroquine, Hashem Yinakem Damam!

    Dr. Zelenko (and others) have repeatedly stated and constructed their protocol is specifically for the EARLY STAGES OF CONTAGION. This ‘study’ appears to be another ‘official study’ designed to dissuade people from this treatment.

    I’m no conspiracy theorist, but I definitely smell a big rat.

    The tzadik Dr. Zev Zelenko is right on the money,and he already explained very clearly why these “studies” have no connection to what he is advocating, but the likes of him can barely manage to make a dent in this oilam hasheker. At least he had the zechus of saving the KJ community.

  21. Such a joke to argue the success of this… I think most pple know atleast one person who was on the brink of hospitalization and in a blink they got better with this medication. The problem is that you can fool some people some times but not all pple all the time and by them so strongly denying this; they are allowing pple to think deeper and see the corruption coming out from the higher ups…

  22. Listen, When one is given instructions about anything in life, you need to follow complete instructions. Just picking out one or two steps will not get you the same results.
    complete protocol is required.
    If you read studies out of Europe, they write about a medical worker who became infected. They could not afford to have all 250 other workers who were exposed to come down with the disease. As a precaution, they treated all 250 of them and none of them came down with the disease.
    Of the 65,000 people on Hydorxicloroquine for lupus or rheumatoid arthritis , only 20 tested positive, no intubation and no hospitalizations.

  23. Doctors around the world are using it with much success but it must be used early, before the lungs are too far damaged from the virus. The studies which show negative results were done with critically ill patients where the patient was too far gone. Pharmacies in New York will only sell HCQ if the patient has a COVID diagnosis which takes time to get back. By then it is too late. Let’s face it, it’s political. The medical establishment and left wing politicians/media have an agenda – they want vaccines and high priced meds and want to destroy Trump. They don’t care if people die. Fauci heads the National Institute of Health which Bill Gates supports and he wants a vaccine. Zelenko’s cocktail is cheap and therefore, there is no money to be made. The truth will come out just as the frame-up of General Flynn was just unmasked. There is an enemy within the USA; Wake up America!!!

  27. Even a cursory reading of this “report” will show that it is worthless fake news. This was not a clinical trial in any sense, and much like the VA report, it was based solely on reviewing hospital records. Why is that significant?

    In many cases HCQ was only given on a compassionate basis, meaning that patients had deteriorated to the point where a positive outcome was unlikely. The report admits that a significantly higher proportion of patients who received HCQ had co-morbidities, it also notes that OVER 49% OF PEOPLE ADMINISTERED HCQ IN THIS STUDY WERE ALREADY ON VENTILATORS. It does not give the percentage of those who were not administered the drug that were on ventilators, but by omission and circumstance, it is likely significantly less.

    Why anyone would publish what is clearly a garbage report is unknown. Once can only speculate it is to garner headlines like this and the Politico article, to score political points on an unsuspecting public via an unscrupulous media.

    I believe Vanderbilt is conducting a real study on HCQ, including its benefit as a prophylactic, in the meantime there has not been a credible study in the U.S. of its efficacy, and the fact that the two studies that have come out, are so obviously skewed towards a particular outcome, makes one wonder.

    Yes or No: Do you usually get the flu vaccine every year?

    • There would be no need for your survey if the disease was not all over the place, if politicians had cared for their citizens (and non-citizens in their country) and if people had understood this disease is dangerous and we need to guard our health. Compare USA and UK with Australia and New Zealand.

  31. well whoever wants to dispute the FACT that it saved my fathers life could take it up with him! numbers dropping for 24 hours straight and abruptly stopping to drop keeping him off a ventilator within 2 hours of getting the drug!!! chasdei hashem but the shliach was absolutely HYDROXYCLOROQUIN!

    • I am glad your father is healthy. I prefer not to get exposed to this evil virus. You can take preventative hydroxycloroquine if you wish.
