naftali-bennett As Middle East peace talks are set to resume after a five-year freeze, 972 Magazine reports a member of Israel’s cabinet has declared his backing for simply killing Palestinian prisoners, rather than bringing them to trial.

Israel announced it would release 104 Palestinian prisoners, a key caveat in the John Kerry-brokered plan to renew peace talks.

But according to the 972 report, Israel’s minister of Industry, Trade and Labor and Habayit Hayehudi party leader Naftali Bennett could not have disagreed more, proposing during this week’s cabinet meeting a swifter to deal with prisoners.

“If you catch terrorists, you have to simply kill them,” Bennett allegedly said, according to a report in Yediot Achronot.

Israeli National Security Adviser Ya’akov Amidror allegedly responded by saying that such a practice was illegal. Bennett then reportedly declared, “I’ve killed lots of Arabs in my life – and there’s no problem with that.”

A former IDF officer, the right-wing Bennett briefly joined protesters against the decision to release prisoners before attending the cabinet meeting. Prior to Sunday’s vote, Bennett said, “Terrorists should be killed, not released.”

  1. The fact is that the issue here was releasing prisoners with blood on their hands, meaning that they killed people, Hashem yeracheim. Such people deserve a death penalty. Naftali is right.

A Torah site like this should not join with the liberal media in advocating mercy for rotzchim.

  2. In what world is saying something like this remotely helpful to the Jewish people? This man is not a mensch and the Dati leumi Zionim are responsible for electing him.

  3. He was commander of an elite unit that snuck into Arab villages, sometimes dressed as Arab women, and took care of business without use of a gun.

  4. All Talk

As a settler leader said privately a few months ago:
We all know that Bennet is Centrist(/left) leaning manipulator who shrewdly plays delicately, pulls every string ,covers the media with “candid” hot air so that the (foolish )Right
    stays in line

  5. In this case he is right! Even if it does not look good in the eyes of the hypocritical antisemitic nations, it is practical. It works. It saves lives. This is the only languish the terrorists understand and if you want to convey a message, you have talk in such languish the recipient of the message understands

  6. Shocking commentary from a leader. Does he want to see jews in the streets lynching arabs? I suppose with Bennett you get an architecture of arrogance muffled with appreciation for his own time. I would stay far from him in his political leanings. And he is quite a wicked soul. If he thinks he is “right” to kill. Why doesn’t he think he is going to be orthodox and wear Tzitzis and a beard too and repent. I guess one thing is too much for the other. Maybe blood on his face and hands is enough to get him started in the morning.

  7. He was talking about having killed terrorists.

As i said above, he was commander of an elite unit that snuck into Arab villages, sometimes dressed as Arab women, to track down terrorists and capture or eliminate them.

This was one of the most elite and dangerous units in the IDF and requires incredible fearlessness and skill.

  8. How does a government have the right to release murderers? furthermore how does the release of convicted terrorists maximize the possibility of peace? If anything this only complicates matters for now we have a hundred bitter, battle tested terrorists roaming free

  9. The way it sounds to me, IMHO, is that he advocates a death penalty for convicted Arab murderers, not to just randomly kill Arabs. The Arabs he did kill were part of his army service- are we now saying that when you kill in the army in self defense you are a murderer?
