NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine met Thursday with Israel’s Science and Technology minister, Ofir Akunis, and they agreed to expand cooperation on issues including the international space station, space exploration, and earth science research, the Hebrew media Ynet website reported.

Akunis expressed interest in sending a second Israeli astronaut into space and Bridenstine said the United States would consider the request, Haaretz newspaper reported.

Israel’s first astronaut with NASA, Ilan Ramon, died in 2003 while aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia, which disintegrated upon reentry into the earth’s atmosphere at the end of the science and research mission.

  1. Scary… both times the space shuttle exploded, there was a Yid on board… Judith Resnik, then Ilan Ramon. Maybe we don’t belong there. Who knows?

    • I do not know. There were Jewish astronauts in Soviet Union who went to space and returned in good health. One survived a deadly accident due to a “freak coincidence” (X-ray of his colleague looked line pneumonia; the antisemitic flight director took the opportunity and swapped the entire crew with their backup; the colleague was examined and found perfectly healthy, so it was requested original crew is reinstated, but launch date was close and the backup crew was sent to the ill-fated flight).

But more than once I thought exactly the same you wrote.

  2. Why not Hillary, Obama, Comey, Rosenstein, Mueller, Brennan and the rest of the FBI and CIA? The best part will be that Hillary will finally get a chance to become president there.

  3. Dumb move. There’s no such thing as coincidence. Ramon’s death should signify that maybe the ‘Jewish’ state ought not to push it’s limits.
Remember, Hashem runs the world, and nothing happens by chance.

  4. So many prohets on this site who know the Mind of Hashem.
