Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) harshly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress on Wednesday, calling it the “worst” in the history of the legislative body. She expressed strong disapproval of Netanyahu’s lack of progress on a hostage deal with Hamas.
“Benjamin Netanyahu’s presentation in the House Chamber today was by far the worst presentation of any foreign dignitary invited and honored with the privilege of addressing the Congress of the United States,” Pelosi wrote on the social platform X following the speech.
Pelosi opted not to attend the speech, choosing instead to participate in a listening session with Israeli families affected by the October 7th Hamas terror attack and kidnappings.
“Many of us who love Israel spent time today listening to Israeli citizens whose families have suffered in the wake of the October 7th Hamas terror attack and kidnappings,” Pelosi continued. “These families are asking for a ceasefire deal that will bring the hostages home – and we hope the Prime Minister would spend his time achieving that goal.”
Pelosi’s strong statement underscores the widening rift between Netanyahu and the Democratic Party. While Democrats broadly support Israel, they have been increasingly critical of Netanyahu, particularly regarding his reluctance to endorse a hostage deal with Hamas supported by President Biden.
Approximately half of the Democrats in both the House and Senate chose to skip Netanyahu’s lengthy speech. During his address, Netanyahu downplayed civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict, accused American protesters of being backed by Iran, and criticized his detractors.
Netanyahu also commended President Biden for his unwavering support of Israel and urged Congress to increase military and financial backing.
“For the forces of civilization to triumph, America and Israel must stand together,” he said, thanking President Biden for “half a century of friendship to Israel.”
“I deeply appreciate America’s support, including in this current war, but this is an exceptional moment. Fast-tracking U.S. military aid can dramatically expedite an end to the war in Gaza and help prevent a broader war in the Middle East,” he added.
During the speech, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) displayed a sign reading “war criminal” and “guilty of genocide.” A prosecutor for the International Criminal Court has suggested Netanyahu could be charged with war crimes for the Israeli military’s actions in Gaza.
Outside the Capitol, the speech prompted mass protests, resulting in at least 11 arrests, according to U.S. Park Police and the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department.

Wicked evil lady. A crooked witch.
She WAS part of the Swamp and drained many years ago. What will make you wake up and realize that the media is lying about everything and conspiracy theorists are right about everything and everyone?
So what REALLY happened to the Twin Towers on 9/11??? When will YOU reveal all the information that you know?! By you covering up the information, you have proven that YOU are a hypocrite.
Given her age she is clearly in the same boat as Biden.
She should retire before she gets embarrasses herself any further.
Of course it was the worst in her eyes
She’s an antiSemite
That’s how we know how great it was
Go Bibi
It was absolutely a fabulous speech! Even if I hadn’t heard it, by virtue of Nancy the witch’s portrayal, that in itself, proves it! And Matzav’s picture choice of her, is great.
Now, after having listened to his speech, I’m more convinced. Bibi was great!
She’s a rabid, unrepentant, evil anti-Semite.
Until now I thought Nancy Pelosi was simply a politician who did the usual political spinning for her side. After reading her nasty, hate-filled comments about Netanyahu’s respectful address to Congress, I’ve revised my opinion – she’s simply an evil person.
